"Our highest point on the walk would was 210m up" Paul Griffith.
Janine Pinion (and Paul G), planned a superb walk from the train station at Hope/Caergwerle yesterday. The Wrexham to Bidston line has its own “from the station” guidebook of walks and Janine chose a walk from the guide book and then led it. The walking route and guide were flawless and the route took in a really big hill climb and then took a drop down to a sheltered river path back to the station (about5.5-6 miles). There were 13 of us on the walk. It was a shame that the weather that had tempted us back early into the sea for a swim did not hang around until the weekend – the air temperature was very cool and the weather was grey and murky with low cloud.
Wildlife wise – we heard many Chiff-Chaffs (warbler summer migrants) and saw a Sand Martin (close relative of Swallows and House Martins) and my first summer migrant of the year.
